GRAI’s 7th annual Walk for Greyhounds is happening Sunday 11th of June at 2pm at Farmleigh in Phoenix Park, Dublin!
This is a fun, peaceful, family-friendly walk in the park to promote greyhounds as pets, with a route approximately 4km long taking about an hour to complete. We convene in the donkey field adjacent to the Farmleigh car park so you can’t miss us on your way in. We ask that all dogs remain on lead at all times, all dog waste is disposed of responsibly and make sure to bring drinking water for your dogs (if we manage to have less precipitation than 2016 of course!) Last year we had a fantastic turnout of hound enthusiasts despite rather damp weather, so we’re hoping this year will be even bigger and better (and drier)!
Our Walk is held in conjunction with the Great Global Greyhound Walk, an initiative that saw over 5000 greyhounds take part in various walks around the world on one day in 2016. Even with the constant downpour at our Walk last year, we managed to have the highest total of greyhounds of the international walks outside the UK, so aiming for an even higher total this year. A secondary walk is being organised on the West coast as part of the Great Global Greyhound Walk by Galway SPCA, so please feel free to join them in Portumna Forest Park on the same day (June 11th at noon). www.greatglobalgreyhoundwalk.co.uk/walks/galway-ireland-walk/
We have created an event on our facebook page for the Dublin Walk and we would really appreciate as many shares as possible on various social media platforms so that we have a great turnout on the day.

We welcome all breeds of dog to attend the walk to show their support for greyhounds and if the weather is decent, we encourage folks to bring along a picnic or a few goodies to hang around and socialise after the walk. If there are any dogs who don’t feel up to completing the full walk, they are welcome to stay in the field for the duration and enjoy some hound social time before and after the walk. We can’t wait for the big day and look forward to seeing you there! #Grá4Greyhounds
