DESPITE THE driving rain a total of one hundred and twenty seven dogs came out to Farmleigh, on Sunday 19 June, with their adopted owners to show support for the 6th Annual Walk for Greyhounds, hosted by Greyhound Rescue Association Ireland.
From the many greyhounds, to the lurchers, to the little dog-breeds, all had one thing in common – to highlight to the public that greyhounds make wonderful pets. There were those who had tales of being deemed unsuitable for homing, or those who had tales of abuse – but their other tails wagged and showed only joy.
GRAI spokesperson “It was just amazing to see hundreds of people and their dogs come out in the rain to show support to promote greyhounds as pets in Ireland, today there was love shown for greyhounds”.
